e.l.f Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bold Berry – Swatch and Review

Being a vegan makeup lover can be a frustrating experience sometimes, which is why e.l.f is a brand that I have a lot of love and respect for.

e.l.f has always been against animal testing, and all of their products are vegan as of a few years ago. On top of that they are super affordable, which does a lot to help make cruelty free and vegan makeup accessible to everyone!

I recently picked up one of e.l.f’s Velvet Matte lipsticks in the shade “Bold Berry”, and I’ve decided to give it a little review here.

£4.50 from elfcosmetics.co.uk

Classic e.l.f packaging, all black, simple, minimalistic. Doesn’t feel too flimsy or cheap despite the price.

A truly gorgeous blueish/pink berry colour. I would say that this lipstick would look great on people with neutral toned skin and fantastic on cooler toned skin. My skin is neutral/cool and I feel as though this colour really compliments it.

Best applied with a lip brush for ultimate precision, this lipstick is extremely pigmented so there’s no need for multiple coats. It also tastes slightly sweet.

The colour lasts for a long time on the lips and is so pigmented that it stains skin, but it does smudge quite easily. The formula is very comfortable to wear, it dries out the lips slightly but doesn’t crumble or crack at all.

Final verdict
I really enjoy this lipstick and think it may become one of the go-to products in my makeup bag, especially throughout the winter. I would recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about exploring berry tones but doesn’t want to shell out a lot of money.

Let me know if you’ve tried this lipstick, or if you want to try it now! Which e.l.f products are your favourites?
